"The Lord has done great things for us;     we are glad."

Psalm 126:3

Delivered from mental illness

My name is Shishay Mehari, and these are my sisters,

Natsenet and Shalom. Although I was born and raised in

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, my parents hail from Eritrea.

Due to the conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea, I was

forced to flee my homeland and seek refuge in Eritrea,

where I encountered a transformative experience and

became a born-again Christian while incarcerated in Sawa.

Following the footsteps of many Eritreans, I later migrated to

Sweden, hoping for a fresh start. However, my time in

Sweden was marred by turmoil as I grappled with stress, depression, and sleep disturbances. For twelve arduous years, I wandered aimlessly, devoid of direction and purpose. Throughout this period, I recognized that my struggles had a spiritual underpinning, yet I clung to the hope of eventual deliverance.

One pivotal day, my sister extended an invitation to attend a conference where Prophet Yemane was scheduled to speak in our adopted country. Without harboring much expectation, I attended the gathering, assuming it would be a customary church service. As the conference unfolded and Prophet Yemane initiated prayers for the attendees' deliverance, I found myself unexpectedly overwhelmed by a surge of anger towards him, perceiving his actions as an attack against me. Upon reviewing the video footage of the event later, I was stunned to witness my behavior during that episode, as it was entirely alien to my conscious memory. However, upon the conclusion of the Prophet's prayer for me and my subsequent return to awareness, I experienced a profound sense of relief as if a heavy burden had been lifted from my soul. Today, I stand liberated from the mental challenges that once ensnared me, and I attribute all glory to God for His deliverance.

Through my personal journey, I have come to understand that countless believers endure bondage, much like I once did. I can only fathom the struggles faced by those who do not share our faith. Nevertheless, I steadfastly believe in God's boundless power. Despite enduring twelve years of affliction, I have witnessed His unwavering faithfulness in delivering me. The grace and deliverance of God were manifested through His servant, Prophet Yemane. I urge others to draw inspiration from my narrative and seek out genuine men of God, such as Prophet Yemane, for their own deliverance and breakthrough from bondage.
